Tragedy Of Man; A Poem

From history hailed the rightful throne

that is conquered and taken by force alone

Also won with the guile and craft

of man’s own directed path

A poor man’s wish, a weak man’s fantasy

are materialized in a victor’s reality

then birthed a sacred babe

whose father told him he’ll be great

The tales of Man’s fight was written in stone

and carries the mark of his rivals in bone

give inheritance of mettle and mind

and yet keep a feral incline

It is a wonder of the world

that one may rise and herald

“this is the earth upon which,

with all conviction, I grant my wish!”

Rooted in the fabric and mould

are the wanton desires of the soul

a lust for power that never departs

nurture the dark sinews of thy heart

Society has fallen into a pit

an incendiary hell that seems fit

for humanity has lost its identity

through its self-idolatry

Have we lost our human touch

become blind and cold as such

we kill until there is only one

and then the world will come undone

Wealth is a witch, a snake, a temptress

that loves to stimulate Man’s tempest

it says ‘ You want what’s yours, achieve at all costs!’

man believes, and goodness is lost

But if only one could break away

from the sparkle of her jewelry

and the poison of his company

and the shackles of herd mentality

Into the glorious light, you will see

That all is earned when one is free

Hey guys so that was the first poem I’ve written. What do you guys think? I did a quick sketch on a piece of post-it note for the picture 🙂

Love it, that is a fantastic poem 🙂 When you say, “Man’s own directed patch” I can’t help but feel it has a lot of relevance to what you talk about on this site which is film. directed being a reference to a director or at least how I perceive it 🙂 Anyway, keep up the great work as always 🙂 P.S. thank you for that wonderful reply you left on my site 🙂
