A snail’s view of the world;A poem

Living in my own world

That’s what they think

My shell is my house

And some can’t fathom it to be

I retreat into it when I sleep and it moves as I do

Being outcasted as a nomad is the truth

I’m a slug that moves deliberately, a character in disguise

Some eyes do not distinguish a rock from a slime

In a world of fast things, I refuse to conform

I’m a societal rebel; Time’s existential crises

For I seem slower than time itself

And I’m not bound by the gears that surround

Life is a joy and wonder in infinite amounts

Yet man only goes through the motions

They do not grasp the seconds

A feeling is a twinkle; Moments are not felt

Time has consumed their emotional faculty

And so too will time consume me

But at least I have lived

A life worth living

Yup haha 🙂 Took a random photo of a snail and got me thinking about what snails must feel like living their lives haha.

Awesome poem! I love picturing the world from new perspectives. Now I’m picturing life as a snail, where everyone else is moving at light speed.
