400 followers + Liebster Award!

Thanks Alicja for nominating me for the Liebster Award for the second time! You just…honestly ROCK!! Wow this is huge 🙂 I wanted to save this for a special blog post so I thought why not put along with the 400 followers checkmark. Check out her site here where she pours her heart out into movie reviews.

And thanks to everyone who has followed me,read, commented and most of all enjoyed the content that I’ve been putting out. It means alot to me 🙂 So without further ado, here are my responses to the questions! I’ll be nominating people below, so be sure to check out my questions for you guys!

1.What’s the best movie you’ve seen in this year (so far)? The Witch. Feels like a horror film but its actually a rural allegory about repression and the nature of evil. There’s so many layers to it. The movie confronts you with haunting truths about our relationships with each other and the things we believe in.

2.What’s the worst movie you’ve seen in this year (so far), and what made it so awful?Knight Of Cups. Pretentious nonsense. The film postures Christian Bale’s high-flyer character as someone going through almost a metaphoric journey as a prince who has lost his way. Fact is that he’s just a degenerate party-goer and alcohol addict who gives zero shits about anything at all. Yet, the film expects us to care about him? Cue abstract arabic soundtrack as protagonist walks by a group of beggars (clearly not giving a shi*) and cheesy-ass narration about how ‘The prince has lost his pearl.’ Seriously.

3.What’s the worst remake you’ve ever seen?

To be honest most of the remakes I’ve seen have been pretty good. I liked The Departed, Carrie, Cape Fear, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. But this one is not just the worst remake I’ve seen but a strong contender for worst movie ever. Piranha 3DD. I don’t even know what the heck the extra D is for. F grade shit.

4.Which actor/actress could you see yourself being best friends with?

Hard to say. I’d like to be friends with Ryan Gosling though. He seems super chill and has an awkward sense of humour which is always the best kind of humour!

5.Pick a director to helm a movie about your life.

Tough question. I’ll go with David Fincher. Though I wouldn’t mind Denis Villeneuve or Nicolas Winding Refn.

6.What’s your favorite iconic movie line?

“I drive”. – Drive.

7.If you were to work on a movie, which role do you see yourself best performing (i.e. writer, director, producer, actor, or…)?

Director! It’s my dream to direct a film. I can’t act well so acting’s out. I just find creating the mood, setting and flow of a story really magical.

8.Who would win in a fight – Voldemort or Kylo Ren?

Voldemort. Mainly because I have a depper attachment to the HP franchise and its characters than Star Wars so I’m biased. Kylo Ren’s kinda meh. But come on, you don’t mess with a guy who split his soul into 7 parts.

9.Do you believe in aliens, ghosts, and/or the Loch Ness Monster?

Yeah I believe in aliens. But of course, I mean aliens as in extraterrestrial life. I think its super ignorant to believe we’re the only living beings in the whole universe. I’m sure intelligent life also exists. Hmm, ghosts…I don’t know I guess there are spirits? But I wouldn’t want to say for sure…and well the loch ness…who knows? To borrow a phrase that Hamlet said to Horatio, “There are more things in Heaven and Earth than are dreamt in your philosophy.” I sometimes think it’s kinda cool not knowing everything.

10.In how many years do you predict that they’ll start working on a film about Brexit?

Maybe a couple of years. Documentary?

11.What’s the best vacation you’ve ever had?

Ooh, I’ve had fond memories of going to Switzerland when I was super small like 7-8? I remember being very mischievous up on the ice mountains. There used to be these photos of  random tourists they put on the wooden ledges. I would roll up snowballs, or just chunks of ice and kept throwing them at the photos. I destroyed a satisfying number of these photos before I was stopped by grandma. Guess you could say I was having a ball of a time 😉 But yeah Switzerland was really beautiful.

I liked my trip to London and Paris as well which was my most recent vacation two years ago. The christmas market in Paris was so awesome.

Congratulations on both of these, the landmark and the award. The questions you’ve answered and put up are quite unique in themselves, with the focus on films being great.

Thanks a lot for nominating me for the award. I would have to decline though as I don’t do award posts.

Wish you all the best for adding another zero to that list of followers in record time. Happy blogging. God bless. 😊
