Sunshine Award and 500 followers :)

So this is way WAY overdue and I’ve just been delaying it for the longest time 😛 But thanks to Markus, Tom and Alicja for nominating me for the Sunshine Award 🙂 You guys rock!! It’s always nice to get a little something from the blogging community so many thanks to you three and everyone who reads my blog. I also recently reached 500 blog followers which is a great milestone for me 🙂 I’ll definitely continue doing what I do on this blog and hope you guys enjoy what you read 🙂

Marckoguy’s Sunshine questions

Favorite movie of 1997?

L.A. Confidential. I haven’t seen many movies in 1997, but the ones that I have were pretty good. George of the jungle is a childhood favourite and Tarantino’s Jackie Brown was nice.

What’s the best christmas present you have ever received?

My current Iphone 7. My old phone was a really beat up and cracked S3. The wait was worth it though, I’m loving the matte black, it’s so sleek.

Coffee or tea?

Tea. I can’t take coffee,or at least something where I can taste the coffee. I sometimes puke at the taste 😦

Is there a song that always gets you emotional?

Yeah, Boyz II Men’s End of the road. I mean there’s always things we move on from and leave behind. So the song really resonates with that bittersweet poignant feeling.

Favorite color?

Turquoise

Favorite space movie that is not in any way part of the “Star Wars” mythos?

Argh I wish I watched more space movies,or at least enjoyed more of them. Maybe Interstellar?

If you could bring back any dead celebrity for a chat (or something), who would it be?

Whitney Houston

What do you do to relax?

Watch movies,chill with friends,listen to music,read books. I play tennis on the weekends as well and I go to the gym too 🙂

You’re stuck on a deserted island, what 4 movies have you brought with you to bide your time?

Pulp Fiction, Rush Hour, Inception, and The Red Turtle. The first three have immense re-watchability for me,and the last one I haven’t seen personally, but its also about a man stuck on an island…so I’d figure it could be enlightening.

What canceled show would you want to see brought back from the dead?

Revenge.

Alicja’s Sunshine questions

What would be your dream job (disregarding worries about pay or scheduling)?

I’ve always dreamed of making my own films,so film director it is!

What are some of your favorite childhood films?

Rush Hour, Johnny English, Indiana Jones ,Harry Potter ☺️

As an ode to Barbara Walters: If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?

I’d be a palm tree 🙂

What’s your least favorite film genre?

Horror. I can’t watch horror films because I get too scared, but I’m okay with psychological horror like Silence of the lambs, The Witch etc. I’m just a wuss like that but its okay I can live without seeing stuff that makes my heart jump. No thanks Chuckie.

Which whimsical sitcom character do you most relate to? Or, if you’re not a sitcom fan, which character of any genre?

I don’t know any whimsical sitcoms,nit even sure I can name many sitcoms to start with,but I really identify with Kevin Spacey’s character in American Beauty. He represents more in all of us than some would like to admit. The character is just too real and really stuck a chord in me.

What’s the last movie you watched, and was it any good?

Arrival was awesome. I loved it because it was so tense,which you get from any Villeneuve film…but it was also quietly provocative. I’m not sure if I really like how the film ended,but it’s still a fantastic movie.

If you follow the Oscars, what do you think has been the biggest snub of all time?

Hmm,tough one. I’m not well versed in movies before 2008 so my answer would be Inception not winning best picture in 2010…no in fact it’s bigger than that, I would have been okay with Social Network,Black Swan,True Grit, The Fighter or Winter’s Bone winning…just not The King’s Speech. That stick-to-the-formula ‘safe’ uninventive film that’s more focused on royal decorum than the king’s actual struggle doesn’t deserve to win.

Who is your favorite movie love interest (you cannot cite “The Notebook)?

The relationship between Samantha and Theodore in Her.

What movie are you most looking forward to in September?

Hahah I’m way too late for this but I remember I was looking forward to Pete’s Dragon, The Neon Demon. I really enjoyed both 👍🏻👍🏻

What sayings or personal mantra do you live your life by?

Be kind.

Are you a cat person or a dog person?

Funny thing is I used to be a cat person by default since I had a morbid fear of being mauled/eaten by dogs. Yeah that was really weird but its true. But I’ve gotten over that the first time I petted my neighbour’s shih tzu,and have loved dogs ever since. I love Westies the most ❤️

Tom’s Sunshine questions

Who are good inspirational role models for young kids to have today?

I think anyone who has the courage to do what is right even when it gets tough is a good role model for kids. Being caring,compassionate and accepting also makes a worthy leader in my view.

You have a time machine – do you go backwards or forwards in time?

On a personal level, I wouldn’t use it otherwise life might be less meaningful if we could just change the past or predict the future. But of course, I’d probably go forwards anyway to retrieve important information like cures etc so that people can benefit today.

What has been your favourite country that you’ve visited and where would you most like to go next?

Eastern Europe! I know!…Its a region but I can’t decide,I just like all the countries I’ve visited there 🙂 It’s so beautiful and chill 😉 I’d like to visit NYC someday.

What were you like when you were in school?

Pretty average I guess. Just a regular kinda guy.

Do you prefer going to the cinema, watching films on Netflix (or another similar site) or buying and watching DVDs?

I love both the cinema and watching at home on netflix. There’s just always a risk of people in the cinema being inconsiderate and stuff,so maybe watching at home is preferred 🙂 Still, nothing beats a night out with friends in the cinema.

What song most reminds you of your childhood?

Stand By Me by Ben E King. I always remember the frogs,Timon and Pumba singing in the lion king.

Who’s your hero?

Roger Federer and Martin Luther King Jr.

What’s your favourite TV show?

House of cards presently. The show is just downright badass. I used to binge watch Revenge.

What would you choose for your last meal?

The best steak in the world wherever that is haha 🙂

What hobby would you like to take up?

I would like to learn German 🙂 And I’d like to finally pursue my passion of making small indie type of films.
